Information Technology and Internet Usage Rates of Enterprises in Turkey Announced
According to TURKSTAT data, 92.7% of enterprises with 10 or more employees use fixed-line internet, while social media and e-sales rates have also increased.
According to the Survey on Information and Communication Technology Usage in Enterprises published by the Turkish Statistical Institute, 92.7% of enterprises with 10 or more employees preferred fixed-line internet access in 2026. The survey revealed current data in many areas such as social media usage, e-sales activities, employment of ICT specialists, and cybersecurity measures.
Internet Access and Connection Speeds
According to data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, 92.7% of enterprises with 10 or more employees used a fixed-line internet connection.
When subscription speeds were examined, it was determined that 47.1% of enterprises preferred internet speeds of less than 100 megabits per second, 43.7% preferred 100-999 megabits per second, and 9.2% preferred 1 gigabit per second and above.
Social Media Usage Rates
The proportion of enterprises using social media applications rose from 55.2% in 2025 to 57.7% in 2026.
While this rate was highest in the publishing, radio-TV, and content activities sector at 93.9%, it was lowest in the construction sector at 40.7%.
Developments in E-Sales Activities
The proportion of enterprises making sales via the internet or electronic data interchange was recorded as 13.6% in 2024 and 17.1% in 2025.
Looking at economic activities, the area with the highest e-sales rate was accommodation and food service activities at 43.3%.
Information and Communication Technology Specialists
The proportion of enterprises employing information and communication technology specialists working in information systems processes was 15.2% in 2026.
The most common problem faced by businesses experiencing difficulties during the recruitment process was determined to be candidates' high salary expectations, with a rate of 82.6%.
Cloud Computing and Security Measures
While the overall usage rate of paid cloud computing services was 20.2%, this rate reached 57% in large enterprises with 250 or more employees.
The proportion of enterprises taking any security measures in their information systems increased from 76% in 2024 to 83% in 2026.
