Lam Dong health sector enhances digital transformation and personnel capacity
Meeting the healthcare needs of the local population, the Lam Dong health sector aims to elevate service quality through smart infrastructure investments and personnel training.
Lam Dong's health sector is being restructured with a focus on personnel training, smart healthcare infrastructure, and digital transformation to meet the requirements of the new era.
Structure of the Health Sector
Following administrative restructuring, the Lam Dong health sector has more than 9,300 personnel and 49 affiliated units. This extensive structure operates to meet the healthcare needs of approximately 3.9 million people in the province.
Personnel and Specialization Targets
Despite having a wide network, the local health sector faces a shortage of highly specialized personnel. The ratio of doctors is recorded at 7.55 per 10,000 people, while university-graduate pharmacists stand at 1.86 per 10,000 people.
In line with the targets set by the Ministry of Health, it is planned that by 2030 there will be at least 11 doctors and 2.5 pharmacists per 10,000 people.
Digital Transformation and Infrastructure Efforts
Operational since early 2025, the Smart Healthcare Operations Center supports data-driven management. Across the province, 36 units have implemented electronic health records.
One hundred percent of healthcare facilities carry out cash-free payment and insurance query transactions using chip-based identification cards. Efforts are ongoing to resolve API connection errors in VNeID integration.
Demand for Advanced Medical Techniques
The Lam Dong Provincial General Hospital is requesting support from relevant authorities to promptly commission specialized oncology and nuclear medicine techniques that are awaiting approval.
