Malaysian engineering students come to Turkey for TEKNOFEST
Students from Universiti Sains Malaysia traveled 8,000 kilometers to Turkey to compete in the Model Satellite Competition in Aksaray.
The Model Satellite Competition, held in Aksaray as part of TEKNOFEST, the world's largest aerospace and technology festival, is hosting young talents internationally. The Astral team, consisting of Aerospace Engineering students from Universiti Sains Malaysia, traveled thousands of kilometers to showcase their projects.
International Competition Excitement
The Model Satellite Competition, held in Aksaray within the framework of TEKNOFEST, the world's largest aerospace and technology festival, continues to host young talents internationally. Students from the Aerospace Engineering department of Universiti Sains Malaysia, who came to the city from the Southeast Asian country of Malaysia, are showcasing their talents in the field of space technologies with their domestic model satellite projects they have been working on for months.
Model Satellite Project Challenge
Competing with international teams in a different geography 8,000 kilometers away from their home country, the Malaysian youths are striving for the successful launch of their designed model satellites via rocket, the transmission of data to the ground station, and the successful execution of flight scenarios.
The Astral Team's Journey
Aifah Mohd Ali, the advisor of the 6-student Astral team, stated that they had previously participated in a competition held in the USA, but the atmosphere of TEKNOFEST is very different and exciting. Expressing that they have been working at an intense pace since January, Ali noted that they successfully completed the selection processes involving 302 teams from 10 countries and advanced to the finals in Aksaray.
Goals and Expectations
Team captain Salsa Ayu Ardini Ahmad Mukimin stated that the facilities and atmosphere at the competition area are excellent and that they have been preparing for TEKNOFEST for about 9 months. Expressing that they were very excited while coming to Turkey and that the Turkish people are extremely helpful and friendly, Mukimin noted that their goal is to rank in the top 3 and reap the rewards of their efforts.
