During the Meta Connect event, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced Muse Charm, a standalone wearable hardware device developed specifically for the company's Muse AI assistant. Scheduled for release in December, the device allows users to interact via voice without unlocking their phones.
New Unveiling at the Meta Connect Event
During the Meta Connect presentation, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg publicly introduced the new hardware device designed for the company's Muse AI assistant.
Design of the Muse Charm Device
The device resembles a chunky smartwatch without a strap and is worn with a strap. It also features a palm-sized totem look that can be attached to a keychain or carried in a pocket.
Zuckerberg stated that it features a semi-transparent exterior allowing users to see the inner parts of the device, describing this design as an elevated hacker aesthetic.
Hardware Features and Fingerprint Sensor
In the upper right corner of the device, there is a fingerprint sensor that enables voice interaction without the need to unlock the phone or open apps.
On the front of the Muse Charm, there is a small screen, a tiny camera, and at least three holes for microphones.
Digital Avatar Named Jolly
The Muse AI assistant is represented by a cute digital avatar known internally as Jolly, which appears on the small screen.
December Release Date Plan
Meta plans to ship the Muse Charm in time for the holiday season in December.
Zuckerberg noted that only a few units have been produced so far and that the final components and finishing materials are still being finalized.
AI Capabilities and Purpose of Use
Muse is capable of computer use on Mac computers and has the ability to check an email address.
It is considered the fastest way to talk to Muse and communicate by showing the surroundings when glasses are not being worn.
