Meta’s Muse Let Me Waste a Mind-Boggling Amount of Free Compute on Nothing in Particular

Meta's new agentic AI platform Muse grants users a generous free usage allowance of 100 million tokens per week. Comprehensive tests conducted revealed how even a small fraction of this massive capacity can bring large-scale projects to life.

AI Platform Muse and Weekly Token Limit

Meta's new agentic AI platform Muse offers users a weekly free usage allowance of 100 million tokens, as noted by Mark Zuckerberg in a Threads post.

This move demonstrates the reflection of the large-scale computing power provided by the company in line with its infrastructure investments and cloud provider plans onto individual users.

Studies Testing Free Computing Power

In order to see the limits of the massive free computation capacity offered by the platform, a journalist designed various entertainment-oriented projects and tasks without any productivity objective.

In the initial small-scale tests, the system was asked to redraw a writer's photograph line by line using Python, compose a melody, and produce simple video games.

Versatile Projects and Retro Website Design

The artificial intelligence assistant successfully brought together all this generated content and games on a retro-themed website named Garden Signals.

During the process, fifty separate variations of the theme music in different genres and fifty different unique animations were also successfully created.

Browser-Based Mac and Resource Consumption

More ambitious efforts included a 3D adventure game called Garden Quest and a fake bootable Mac running in the browser with functional apps.

After the completion of all these resource-intensive tasks, the artificial intelligence system reported that only about 11 percent of the weekly free token allowance had been consumed.
