National Assembly Delegation Inspects Digital Transformation Efforts in Lang Son Province

The Supervisory Delegation of the National Assembly Committee on Science, Technology and Environment met with the People's Committee of Lang Son province to review the implementation of science, technology and national digital transformation policies.

Delegation and Participants

The meeting was chaired by Tran Van Khai, Vice Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Head of the Supervisory Delegation. The session was attended by Doan Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives of relevant agencies, departments, and businesses.

Provincial Digital Infrastructure Data

According to the report presented at the meeting, community digital technology teams have been established in all communes and wards in the province, with 923 teams operating actively. Mobile coverage reaches 99.95 percent of the population, with the total number of mobile subscribers reaching 869,412, of whom 93.79 percent use smartphones. Additionally, 175,740 households use fiber-optic internet.

Local Challenges and Evaluations

During the working session, the Supervisory Delegation addressed local challenges, shortcomings in legal regulations, and limitations in implementation. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that digital transformation must be measured by real effectiveness. Doan Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, stated that Lang Son has potential for a digital economy but faces bottlenecks regarding infrastructure, data, and human resources.

Future Directions and Warnings

At the conclusion of the meeting, Tran Van Khai commended the province's preparations and positive results. However, he issued warnings regarding data verification, accelerating fund disbursement, data interoperability, and increasing the number of information security experts.
