President Erdoğan Shares TEKNOFEST Enthusiasm in Şanlıurfa

In his speech at the TEKNOFEST Southeast events held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan touched upon the investigation process regarding the mine collapse in Soma and announced festival participant data along with Turkey's defense industry export figures.

Mine Collapse in Soma

In his speech, President Erdoğan commemorated the workers who lost their lives in the mine collapse in Soma, wished God's mercy upon them, and stated that the investigation into the incident is continuing in a multi-faceted manner.

It was announced that a total of 9 people, including company officials, were detained in connection with the mining accident and that those responsible will be held accountable.

TEKNOFEST Participation Data

It was announced that over 730,000 teams and more than 1.6 million contestants from 81 provinces and 97 countries applied for the technology competitions at the festival held in Şanlıurfa.

Stating that the number of visitors to the organization approached 1 million, it was reported that domestic defense industry platforms were exhibited at the festival.

Defense Industry Exports

It was reported that more than 4,500 companies and over 100,000 people work in the defense industry, and Turkey is the 11th largest country in the world in exports.

It was stated that 511.4 million dollars worth of defense and aerospace products were exported in August, and exports in the January-August period reached 6.3 billion dollars.
