Students in Çarşamba Produce Electric Vehicle from Scrap Materials

Five students and two teachers in the R&D team of a private college in the Çarşamba district manufactured an electric vehicle using recycling and scrap materials.

The Process Leading to the Project

Within the scope of the project, which has been worked on for about a year, the students plan to equip the vehicle with artificial intelligence and smart systems.

Muzaffer Batlıcancı, the founder of the private school and an electrical engineer, stated that the project was brought to life entirely with their own means.

Support from Tradespeople and the School

While completely self-resources and recycled materials were preferred, Çarşamba tradespeople also made significant contributions to the project.

In the study, which was supported by all students from the idea stage onwards, materials were procured in the last two months and the construction phase began.

Technological Equipment Goals

Recep Demir, a 12th-grade student, stated that the vehicle has forward and reverse movement as well as a braking system, and a tablet integration is planned.

Work is ongoing to add various equipment such as lane tracking and autonomous parking in future stages.

Cost and Motor Power

Ömer Ensar Tokur, a 9th-grade student, stated that the cost was reduced as much as possible by using scrap parts.

Zehra Ecrin Altuntaş, an 11th-grade student, emphasized that the current 1-kilowatt motor power is targeted to be increased to 5 kilowatts.
