Turkey Aims to Reach the Moon in 2027 with Domestic Hybrid Propulsion Technology
At the prestigious organization featuring participants from over 100 countries, an official agreement was signed with Uzbekistan for the subsequent gathering in 2028.
Organized by the International Astronautical Federation, the 77th International Astronautical Congress opened its doors at the Antalya NEST Congress Center; Turkey aims to reach the Moon in 2027 using domestic hybrid propulsion technology.
Global Space Gathering Begins in Antalya
Organized by the International Astronautical Federation, the 77th International Astronautical Congress is taking place at the Antalya NEST Congress Center under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, co-hosted by the Turkish Space Agency and SAHA Istanbul.
Turkey's 2027 Moon Mission and Objectives
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır emphasized in his speech during the congress that a sustainable space ecosystem is being developed within the framework of the National Space Program.
Minister Kacır announced that Turkey aims to reach the Moon in 2027 using its own national hybrid propulsion technology and become the first country to leave a deep space heritage in this field.
Exhibition Area Opening and Ribbon Cutting
On the first day of the congress, Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, SAHA Istanbul Chairman of the Board Haluk Bayraktar, International Astronautical Federation President Gabriella Arrigo, and the accompanying delegation opened the exhibition area.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony in front of the Turkey pavilion, the delegation toured the event area and received detailed information about the exhibited works.
Uzbekistan Protocol for the 2028 Congress
As part of the event, an important future collaboration was signed, and an official protocol was executed for the 79th International Astronautical Congress to be held in the city of Samarkand in 2028.
This protocol was implemented by Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and International Astronautical Federation President Gabriella Arrigo.
