The Scope of the Artificial Intelligence Race
Istanbul Chamber of Commerce President Şekib Avdagiç pointed out that the artificial intelligence race does not consist solely of software and algorithms. Avdagiç noted that behind this process lie critical components such as chips, GPUs, data centers, energy and cooling systems, and robotics.
Global Embargo Threat
Şekib Avdagiç warned that global artificial intelligence competition could give rise to new barriers. He stated that allowing countries to use subsequent phases of advanced models such as ChatGPT-6 Astra and Claude Fable 5.1 could be tied to new obstacles and conditions similar to customs tariffs.
Domestic Technology and Independence
Avdagiç emphasized that Turkey must transition to a stage where it produces its own technologies in order to declare its artificial intelligence independence. It was stated that Turkey needs to develop its own artificial intelligence homeland in order not to encounter walls such as customs tariff barriers.
