Workshop Held for Double-Digit Growth and Technology in the Mekong Delta
A strategic workshop focused on science, technology, and digital transformation was held to accelerate economic development in the Mekong Delta.
Organized jointly by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Can Tho People's Committee, the workshop discussed science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation initiatives that will drive double-digit economic growth in the Mekong Delta region.
Purpose of the Workshop
The Ministry of Science and Technology, in cooperation with the Can Tho City People's Committee, held a comprehensive workshop aimed at fostering double-digit economic growth in the Mekong Delta region.
Broad-Based Consultation Process
At the event, central and local organizations, research institutes, universities, businesses, and numerous experts came together to consult on creating a specific plan for the region's future.
New Key Targets for Growth
Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, proposed three critical development directions to achieve the double-digit growth target: high-tech agriculture, the green economy, and climate change adaptation.
Region's Potential and Needs
Although the Mekong Delta accounts for a large share of the country's agriculture and food production, its current growth rate remains below its potential, and the region is in need of new driving forces based on digital transformation.
