US Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack made important evaluations regarding Israel's attack on the Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase in Syria. Barrack stated that Ankara was not informed before the attack and that inter-country mechanisms need to be established.

No Warning Prior to the Attack

US Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack touched upon the operation carried out by Israel in Syria in an interview with the British news agency Reuters. Barrack emphasized that Turkey was definitely not warned before the attack organized by Israel.

Turkey Could Have Prepared Its Reaction

Stating that Turkey observed warplanes heading towards northern Syria, Tom Barrack pointed out that thanks to this situation, Ankara could have prepared its own reaction in a logical and reasonable manner.

Emphasis on De-confliction Mechanism

Pointing out the urgent necessity of establishing a de-confliction mechanism between Turkey, Syria, and Israel, Barrack stated that they are actively working to resolve this issue among the parties.

Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase Targeted

Israeli warplanes had previously carried out a total of four airstrikes on the abandoned Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase located in the eastern countryside of the Idlib province in northern Syria.
