Trade Minister Ömer Bolat held a meeting with Stephane Sejourne, Vice President of the EU Commission responsible for Industrial Strategy.

Making a statement regarding this meeting on his social media account, Minister Bolat announced that they conveyed Turkey's expectations regarding the draft.

Emphasis on Strategic Partnership

During the meeting, it was stated that Turkey is a strategic partner for Europe with its Customs Union partnership, candidate country status, and NATO alliance.

Economic Integration

It was stated that the economic integration between Turkey and the EU has developed on the basis of Customs Union rules and legislative harmonization, and attention was drawn to mutually beneficial networks.

It was noted that preserving the economic integration, particularly in the automotive sector, is critical for the competitiveness and economic resilience of both sides.

Agreement on Close Dialogue

It was conveyed that Stephane Sejourne also pointed out the importance of preserving value chains based on the Customs Union and the strategic nature of relations.

It was reported that the parties decided to work in close dialogue and cooperation regarding the draft Industry Acceleration Act.
