Turkey emerges as country that increased its scores in three areas in PISA 2025 results

According to the PISA 2025 results announced by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Turkey earned the title of the country that increased its score the most among OECD countries by raising its score in all three areas: science, reading skills, and mathematics.
PISA 2025 Results Announced
The results of the PISA 2025 study, conducted every three years by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development to assess 15-year-old students in science, reading skills, and mathematics, were shared with the public simultaneously with the world.
In this evaluation, in which a total of 91 countries participated, Turkey succeeded in becoming the country that increased its scores in all three areas simultaneously and raised its score the most among OECD countries.
Significant Increase in Science
In science, which was the focus area of this year, Turkey maintained its steady rise and surpassed the OECD averages.
While declines were experienced globally, Turkey's average score increased by 18 points compared to 2022 and by 26 points compared to 2018, reaching 494 points.
Rise in Reading Skills
Although a decrease in reading skills scores was observed in many countries during the PISA 2025 administration, Turkey recorded an increase in this area as well.
Turkey increased its average reading skills score by 16 points compared to 2022, bringing it to 472 points and ranking above the averages of both the OECD and all countries.
Success in Mathematics
Contrary to global trends, Turkey also increased its score in mathematics, raising its average by 9 points compared to 2022.
Turkey's mathematics average reached 462 points, coming in 33 points above the average of all countries.

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin attended the PISA 2025 Regional Meeting held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, to share Turkey's experiences and emphasized that curriculum changes had a positive reflection on this success.
