Turkish Parliament Begins New Legislative Year on October 1
The Parliament's October agenda includes the Kızılay bill, foreign accommodation platforms, smoking restrictions, and the 13th Judicial Package.
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey will step into the 5th Legislative Year of the 28th Term on October 1 with a special session and is preparing to discuss many critical regulations in October.
Opening of the Legislative Year
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey will officially begin the 5th Legislative Year of the 28th Term with a special session to be held in the General Assembly on October 1 at 14:00.
On the same day, an opening reception will be hosted by the Speaker of the Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, and legislative activities in the general assembly will become operational on October 6.
Turkish Red Crescent Law Bill
The 9-article Turkish Red Crescent Law Bill, which is among the first agenda items of the General Assembly, is on the Parliament's agenda.
The regulation envisages that disaster logistics and emergency procurement be made directly from Kızılay and that social assistance data be shared.
Digital Accommodation Regulation
It is planned to introduce a requirement for foreign digital accommodation platforms to obtain permission from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Restricting platforms from operating without an authorization certificate is also among the targeted headings.
Tobacco Products Restrictions
It is planned to introduce new restrictions on tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes, in public areas including hospital and school surroundings.
In the Ministry of Health study, besides cigarette use, the organizational structure and Family Health Center services are also addressed.
13th Judicial Package and Alimony
Within the scope of the 13th Judicial Package prepared by the Ministry of Justice and the AK Party Group, there are new legal regulations.
Within the package, there is an indefinite alimony regulation and the separation of divorce, property division, and custody lawsuits from each other.
Identity Verification on Social Media
One of the topics the Parliament will address in the new legislative period is identity verification steps on social media accounts.
In the relevant draft studies, the issue of carrying out identity verification on social media accounts via e-Government is being evaluated.
