First Thrill in Australia After Ten Years
The 2027 FIM Speedway Grand Prix series is preparing to return to Australia for the first time in ten years, with a two-round final to be held at the Gillman Speedway in Adelaide on October 29 and 30.
This event will mark the first time in a decade that FIM Speedway competition takes place outside of Europe, and the staging of two SpeedwayGP races outside of Europe in a single season.
Global Calendar Comprising Eleven Rounds
The 2027 world championship calendar, to be contested over eleven rounds, will kick off on May 1 in Donji Kraljevec, Croatia, followed by Warsaw, Poland, on May 15.
Mayfield Sports Events founder Richard Coleman expressed great excitement about the series moving to Australia.
Cities on the Calendar and New Stops
Throughout the season, the calendar will feature key stops such as Prague, Wroclaw, Riga, Vojens, and Torun, while the city of Ipswich in Great Britain will also join the calendar for the first time to host the event.
Additionally, it has been confirmed that FIM Speedway of Nations and SGP2 events will be held in Riga, Ipswich, and Vastervik, Sweden, as part of the calendar.
