The traditional Mokane World's Fair is preparing to open its doors to visitors for the 77th time this weekend over the Labor Day holiday, featuring significant changes to the schedule and event grounds.
Innovations of the Traditional Fair
Cameron Hall, president of the Mokane Lion's Club, expressed their excitement about hosting this long-standing tradition in Callaway County.
Hall stated that during the fair, which has been held for 77 years every Labor Day weekend, the small town transforms into the region's largest attraction.
Schedule and Track Arrangements
This year's organization features some notable schedule changes and infrastructure improvements compared to previous years.
In the newly renovated motorsports track, a fenced pit area and advanced traffic control arrangements were implemented to increase safety.
Changes to the Event Flow
Within the scope of the arrangements, the demolition derby, which was held on Friday in previous years, has been moved to Sunday this year.
Additionally, it was announced that a truck pull competition will be organized by the Lion's Club on Friday evening.
New Features Awaiting Visitors
Alongside motorsports and competitions, participants will encounter brand-new food and beverage alternatives on the fairgrounds this year.
The traditional Fiddlers Contest continues to maintain its place in this year's program as usual.
