Back from the Brink of Disaster
Teresa Beall and her family narrowly escaped destruction by moving to the Chico area just before the massive 2018 Camp Fire disaster. The wildfire, which affected Paradise and surrounding areas, deeply shook entire neighborhoods and lives.
Meeting the Red Cross
Seeing people around her lose everything, Beall joined relief efforts at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds to support her community and closely observed the services provided by the American Red Cross organization.
Expanding Responsibilities
Involved initially as an event-based volunteer, Beall decided to take on greater roles within the organization by completing comprehensive training and courses.
National-Scale Assignments
What began as a local relief movement quickly turned into a long-term national commitment, and Beall served in numerous operations throughout her career.
Multi-State Operations
Having been deployed approximately 30 times over the intervening period, Beall contributed to disaster relief operations across more than ten states and four different regions throughout the United States.
