Abducted Woman Killed Near Florence
In Italy's seventh homicide case since mid-August, 45-year-old Lorena Isceri was abducted and killed by her ex-boyfriend.
Forty-five-year-old Lorena Isceri, who was abducted by her ex-boyfriend and thrown from a motorway bridge near Florence, has lost her life. This incident was recorded as the seventh suspected femicide in Italy since mid-August.
The Course of Events
In the incident that took place on Thursday afternoon in the Rifredi district of Florence, 45-year-old Lorena Isceri, who worked in the veterinary sector, was abducted by her ex-boyfriend.
The suspect, Federico Vella, forced the woman into the trunk of his car and headed towards a bridge on the A1 motorway.
Emergency Call
Managing to call the emergency hotline with her mobile phone, Lorena Isceri informed operators that she had been abducted.
Following the report, police teams tracked the phone signal, but when they arrived at the scene, the murder could not be prevented.
The Suspect's Action
It was stated that the 38-year-old suspect, Federico Vella, stopped the vehicle, took the phone, threw the woman off the bridge, and then jumped himself.
Security forces initiated an investigation to determine whether the unfortunate woman was killed before being thrown off the bridge.
Rising Femicides
Femicide data in Italy, which showed a downward trend in the first half of the year, has increased since the holiday period on August 15.
According to data from the feminist alliance Non Una di Meno, the number of women killed by their current or former partner since mid-August has reached seven.
