Airstrikes on Ukraine's Capital Region Leave 11 People Dead
Missile and drone attacks targeting the capital and its surroundings during the night injured numerous people, while civilian infrastructure suffered major damage.
Large-scale drone and missile strikes launched by Russia overnight against Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and its surrounding region killed at least 11 people and injured more than a dozen others, including children.
Intense Airstrikes Throughout the Night
The Ukrainian air force announced that the attacks began on Monday evening using ballistic, cruise, and anti-radar missiles, as well as hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles. The Kyiv and Odesa regions were among the main targets.
Casualties and Injuries in Kyiv Districts
Seven people lost their lives in attacks carried out in the Darnytskyi district, while one person was seriously injured. In the Holosiivskyi region, one person died as a result of a fire that broke out in a non-residential building that was hit.
Damage and Rescue Operations in the Boryspil Area
Vehicles and infrastructure facilities were targeted in Boryspil, located in the Kyiv region. As emergency teams rescued people from under the rubble, three people lost their lives and numerous others were injured in the explosions and fires in the area.
Impacts on the Odesa Region and Border Area
Civilian infrastructure was also damaged in the Odesa region, where one person was injured and a fire broke out at a sewing factory. Additionally, the Orlivka international ferry crossing point on the Romanian border was targeted.
