The Boise State University undergraduate engineering program rose 16 spots in the newly announced national rankings, reaching 119th among institutions with ABET accreditation.

Significant Rise in National Rankings

Boise State University's undergraduate engineering program succeeded in climbing from its position of 135th last year to 119th. This achievement demonstrates the university's steadily growing recognition at the national level.

This success enabled the institution to rank ahead of other doctorate-granting universities within the state, namely the University of Idaho and Idaho State University.

Evaluation Criteria and Methodology

The ranking is based on peer assessment surveys completed by engineering deans and senior faculty members of ABET-accredited programs nationwide.

When calculating scores, the highest and lowest ratings are trimmed to reduce the impact of outliers, and this year's survey achieved a 46.1 percent response rate.

Research and Industry Partnerships

Amy Fleischer, Dean of the College of Engineering, stated that over the past decade, the college has achieved major growth in research, academic program diversity, and industry partnerships.

The college continues to actively support applied learning activities and research opportunities that expose students to real-world problems.

Future Goals and New Programs

Tim Andersen, Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, drew attention to the breadth and quality of education provided by faculty members, noting that the programs are continuously improved.

The university continues its growth by launching five new degree programs and research initiatives in fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and biomedical engineering.
