Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced during a program in Edirne that Turkey has risen to 7th place in the world in agricultural output, that the 2026 crop production expectation has exceeded 140 million tons to break a record in the history of the Republic, and that a 10-year, 5.3 billion dollar financing agreement has been signed with the World Bank.
Seventh place in the world in agricultural output
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı made important evaluations regarding Turkey's global position in agricultural production during a program he attended in Edirne.
Yumaklı stated that Turkey has risen to 7th place in the world in agricultural output and that agricultural output reached 83.2 billion dollars as of the end of 2025.
Republic record in crop production
Announcing that the 2026 crop production expectation has exceeded 140 million tons, Minister Yumaklı emphasized that this figure is the highest level reached throughout the history of the Republic.
5.3 billion dollar financing with the World Bank
Minister Yumaklı announced that within the scope of the project signed with the World Bank, a total of 5.3 billion dollars in financing will be provided for 10 years.
It was announced that signatures have been inked for the Transformation Project of the Turkey Agriculture-Food Sector for Employment and Rural Welfare.
Facilitating financing for entrepreneurs
With this implemented project, it is aimed to facilitate access to financing for entrepreneurs who want to invest in the food and agriculture sector.
The first call of 750 million dollars within the scope of the project is planned to be made before the end of this year.
International agricultural diplomacy
Minister Yumaklı stated that within the scope of efforts in the global arena, contacts in the field of agricultural diplomacy with China, Germany, and Russia have been strengthened.
