China Emphasizes Post-War International Order at UN General Assembly

In his address to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Chinese representative Han emphasized the need to preserve the international order established after World War II. Advocating for the resolution of disputes through dialogue rather than military means, Han stated that major powers have a special responsibility to abide by international rules.

International Order and Multilateralism

The Chinese representative drew attention to the importance of preserving the UN-centered international system and law. Stating that unilateral military actions should be avoided, Han expressed that multilateral cooperation is essential for global stability.

Regional Conflicts and Solution Proposals

Touching upon developments in the Middle East, the representative emphasized that sovereignty must be respected. He stated support for the Palestinians' right to self-governance for the reconstruction of Gaza and stressed the need to return to the two-state solution model.

Regarding the Ukraine issue, reference was made to President Xi Jinping's four-point proposal for a political solution. Furthermore, the call to end sanctions imposed on Cuba was reiterated.

Global Development and Technology Vision

A call for global partnership was made regarding poverty reduction, food security, and energy transition. It was recalled that developed countries must fulfill their commitments on climate finance.

Regarding artificial intelligence technologies, it was stated that a human-centered approach should be adopted to close the digital divide.

UN Reform and the Voice of the Global South

China announced its support for reform processes aimed at strengthening the UN. It was emphasized that these reforms should raise the voice of Global South countries on international platforms.

Referencing the 55th anniversary of UN Resolution 2758, China's role as a stabilizing force in the processes of global growth and maintaining peace was highlighted.
