Death Toll Rises in Russian Ammunition Depot Attack in Mylaköyü
As the death toll rises in the attack targeting an ammunition depot in Ukraine's Kyiv region, authorities announced that an investigation has been launched.
The death toll from a Russian attack on a warehouse in the village of Myla in Ukraine's Kyiv region has risen to 38, while search operations for four people are ongoing.
Casualty Toll and Search Operations
In a statement on social media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the death toll in the attack on the facility used as an ammunition depot has reached 38.
It was announced that search and rescue operations, as well as operations to neutralize explosive materials and extinguishing efforts, are ongoing at the scene.
Injured and Investigation Process
While massive explosions and fires caused damage to dozens of homes in the surrounding area, 20 people, including two children, were injured.
Emphasizing that storing ammunition right next to residential areas was a major negligence, Zelenskyy announced that an investigation has been initiated regarding the matter.
Energy Infrastructure Threat from Russia
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that they are preparing for massive attacks on energy infrastructure following Ukraine's drone attacks.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that an appropriate response will be given to Ukraine's escalation policy targeting the civilian economy.
Defense Financing and UAV Activities
Ukraine's new Minister of Defense, Yevhen Khmara, stated that they are seeking support from partners to close the $27 billion defense financing deficit he inherited.
On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that nearly 500 Ukrainian drones launched during the night hours were neutralized.
