Diablo V and New StarCraft Game Announced at BlizzCon 2026
During BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard announced Diablo V, an open-world shooter StarCraft game, World of Warcraft: Forever, and a Diablo animated series developed in partnership with Netflix.
At the BlizzCon 2026 event, Blizzard officially unveiled several major projects, including Diablo V, a new open-world shooter StarCraft game, World of Warcraft: Forever, and a Diablo animated series prepared in collaboration with Netflix.
Diablo V and Diablo IV Developments
Blizzard announced Diablo V, the new main installment of the series, and stated that the production will be released in the spring of 2029.
Additionally, it was announced that the Amazon class, known from the Diablo II era, will be added to Diablo IV in the first half of 2027, and the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game will arrive on September 15, 2026.
New Open-World Shooter StarCraft Game
Stepping away from the series' traditional real-time strategy structure, the new StarCraft game is being developed as an open-world shooter.
Involving Dan Hay in its development, the game is planned for release in the spring of 2030.
Innovations in the World of Warcraft Universe
Announced for the World of Warcraft series, Forever will launch on November 4, 2026, as a third experience alongside Modern WoW and WoW Classic.
Furthermore, the Midnight update was announced under the name Eclipse, and the first details for The Last Titan were shared.
Updates Coming to Other Popular Games
A vampire-themed support hero named Doctrine is being added to Overwatch, while the Monk class will be included in Hearthstone in March 2027.
Blizzard also announced that a new animated series set in the Diablo universe is being developed in partnership with Netflix.
