Intense rainfall across Bangkok forced thousands of people to leave their homes and wake up in shelters on Sunday morning. Authorities reported that thousands of residents have been moved to safe areas.

According to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration data, 52,000 households in the city were affected by the flooding, prompting the official declaration of a disaster across all districts of the capital.
Rainfall Amount and Residents' Accounts
Between Thursday and Sunday, some areas received over 330 millimeters of rain. City resident Kosin Nilset stated that his home was underwater for about 30 hours and that the water level was even higher than in 2011.
Precautions Taken and School Closures
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt warned against unnecessary travel, while it was announced that hundreds of city schools would be closed on Monday.
