FIM Motocross World Championship Adds Second Race in China to 2027 Calendar
FIM and Infront Moto Racing have announced that two separate MXGP races will be held in China in 2027, with Ziyang joining the calendar.
According to the announcement by FIM and Infront Moto Racing, the 2027 FIM Motocross World Championship will be held in two legs in China, with the city of Ziyang featuring on the calendar alongside Shanghai.
Ziyang Included in the 2027 Calendar
FIM and Infront Moto Racing have officially announced that the FIM Motocross World Championship will visit China twice during the 2027 season.
Located in Sichuan province and known as China's Moto Valley, Ziyang will host the inaugural MXGP of Ziyang to be held in September 2027.
Two Grands Prix to Be Held in China for the First Time
Alongside the existing race in Shanghai, the addition of the Ziyang round to the calendar means China will host two Grands Prix in a single season for the first time in MXGP history.
The second Chinese Grand Prix will take place on September 11-12, 2027, highlighting the growth of motorsports in the country.
Chinese Manufacturers Join the Paddock
The 2027 season also carries great significance with the entry of two Chinese manufacturers, ZXMOTO and KOVE, into the FIM Motocross World Championship.
With these developments, Chinese brands will have a presence in the MXGP paddock while local fans will get the chance to watch the world's best riders in their home country.
Strategic Growth in the Asian Market
The new race in Ziyang supports Infront Moto Racing's long-term strategy to establish an early presence in Asia and increase the championship's footprint in the region.
The 18th round of the championship will be held in the city of Ziyang, Sichuan region, on September 12, 2027.
