Health authorities in Gaza announced that due to insufficient funding, the World Health Organization will halt diesel fuel shipments to more than twenty hospitals and health centers in the region starting September 19.

Reason of Funding Shortage

In a statement made by the World Health Organization, it was shared that aid would be restricted and fuel supply would be halted due to the current lack of funding.

Critical Units in Danger

The decision to halt fuel shipments will directly affect vital units such as operating rooms, intensive care units, and ventilators once the generators shut down.

Incubators, dialysis patients, and emergency services will also come to a standstill due to the lack of energy.

Condition of the Infrastructure

As a result of Israel's attacks and blockade continuing since October 2023, the electricity grid across Gaza has been completely disabled.

International Call

Emphasizing that cutting off the flow of fuel in the region where hospitals can only meet their electricity needs with generators means abandoning patients to death, an urgent call for intervention was made to the international community.
