Georgia Tech Ranks in the Top 30 in U.S. News
Georgia Tech rose to 6th place among public universities and entered the top 30 overall in the U.S. News & World Report 2027 list.
Georgia Tech entered the top 30 nationally in the U.S. News & World Report 2027 best colleges rankings while strengthening its position in engineering, computing, education, and innovation.
Rise in the Overall Rankings
The institute climbed three spots among national universities to place 29th and rose to 6th place among public national universities.
Education and Value Categories
Climbing from 108th to 39th in the best value schools category, the institution recorded its largest year-over-year improvement and ranked 5th for in-state students.
President Ángel Cabrera stated that at a time when the value of higher education is being questioned, academic quality and affordability are being pursued together.
Engineering and Computing Achievements
The undergraduate engineering program moved up one spot to rank 2nd nationally, and all ranked engineering disciplines remained within the top five.
The undergraduate computer science program maintained its 5th position in the national rankings, while six computing specialties placed within the top 10 nationwide.
Position in Business and Teaching
The Scheller undergraduate business program ranked 20th nationally, maintaining its place among the country's top twenty programs.
The institute climbed seven spots in the best undergraduate teaching category to rank 14th and placed 3rd in the most innovative schools ranking.
