Soil Survey and Campus Plan for Healthcare Investments in Alanya
Due to soil issues in Alanya, horizontal architecture was preferred for the area opposite the hospital, while an 80-decare campus area in Cikcilli was proposed for a major healthcare investment.
Following soil survey issues on the land opposite the Alanya Education and Research Hospital, high-rise construction was abandoned in favor of building an emergency service and outpatient clinic using horizontal architecture. For a more comprehensive hospital investment, an 80-decare campus area in Cikcilli was included in the planning.
Plan Change Due to Soil Survey
Soil survey studies conducted on the 26-decare land opposite the Alanya Education and Research Hospital revealed water at a depth of about 3 meters and gravel in the lower layer. In line with these findings, the plan for high-rise construction was abandoned and a new model for the investment began to be evaluated.
Horizontal Architecture and Emergency Service Arrangement
The area opposite the existing hospital will not be completely removed from healthcare use. It is envisioned to construct a building in this region using a horizontal architecture approach to provide emergency service and outpatient services, while the remaining portion will be reserved for parking, green spaces, and social use.
80-Decare Campus Proposal in Cikcilli
For a more comprehensive and large-scale hospital investment, the Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University campus area in Cikcilli came to the forefront. It was requested that the 80-decare area located north of the KYK dormitory, formerly used as a runway, be allocated for the healthcare investment.
Integration of University and Healthcare Infrastructure
With the implementation of this investment planned in Cikcilli, it is aimed to integrate healthcare services and the university's medical education infrastructure in the same region. Campuses established on large tracts of land allow for the addition of new blocks and specialized units in future years.
Regional Density and Tourism Impact
The Alanya Education and Research Hospital serves not only the district center but also surrounding regions such as Gazipaşa, Anamur, Akseki, and Gündoğmuş. The population increase due to tourism mobility during the summer months makes the long-term and strategic planning of the healthcare infrastructure in the region mandatory.
Future Process and Inter-Institutional Evaluations
Land allocation and technical evaluation processes are being carried out so that the area in Cikcilli can be used for the hospital project. Upon the completion of the process, it is aimed to relieve Alanya's existing healthcare capacity and create a broader campus.
