Long-Range Attack by Ukraine on Gas Facilities in Russia's Arctic Region

Ukrainian forces have expanded their striking range by attacking two facilities in the Arctic Yamal-Nenets region, one of Russia's gas production hubs. Meanwhile, Germany has issued warnings regarding Russia's weapons production, and in the UK, a person has been charged with allegedly aiding Russian espionage activities.

Gas Facilities in the Arctic Region Targeted

Ukrainian special forces announced that they carried out an attack on two critical natural gas facilities located in the Yamal-Nenets region, approximately 3,000 kilometers from the Russia-Ukraine border.

The region where these facilities are located was previously considered distant from the front lines and an absolutely secure area.

Long-Distance Strike and Economic Impact

Fire Point, a company that produces deep-strike weapons including the Flaming missile, stated that a vehicle successfully traveled more than 3,300 kilometers and struck the target.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised and evaluated the positive effects of these attacks on the Russian economy.

Novorossiysk Port in the Black Sea Struck

Ukrainian forces also targeted Novorossiysk, a Black Sea port in Russia's Krasnodar region.

Zelenskiy reported that the Russian naval base, oil loading terminal, military port facilities, and warships carrying cruise missiles were hit.

Germany Warns of Russian Weapons Production

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius warned that Russia's weapons production capacity could pose a future threat beyond Ukraine's borders.

He emphasized that Moscow is not deploying all the weapons it produces to the front lines, but rather allocating large budgets to stockpile its inventory for potential future conflicts.

Russian Espionage Operation Trial in the UK

Joshua Cammidge, a 31-year-old resident of Swindon, UK, has been charged with allegedly assisting Russian intelligence services in planning a sabotage operation.
