Manisa athletes leave their mark on the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships
The majority of the 16-member national team squad that will participate in the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships in Spain consists of athletes from Manisa.
Out of the 16-member national team squad that will represent Turkey at the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships to be held in Pamplona, Spain, 12 athletes were selected from Manisa.
Manisa's Dominance in the National Team
As the countdown continues for the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships and World Age Group Competitions to be organized in Pamplona, Spain, the national team squad has been finalized. It drew great attention that 12 out of the total 16 national squad members were selected from Manisa.
Distribution by Categories
Turkey will participate in the organization with 8 athletes and 7 performances in the 15-17 age group, and 8 athletes and 6 performances in the over-18 category. The athletes participating from Manisa form the backbone of the national team in both age categories.
Club Representation Rates
The distribution of national athletes in the junior and senior categories according to their clubs has also been determined. Out of the 8 athletes in the 15-17 age group, 2 were included in the squad from Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, 3 from Manisa Spil Sports Club, and 3 from İzmir Şavkar Sports Club.
Senior Category Squad
Out of the 8 national athletes who will compete in the over-18 category, 5 represent Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club. Additionally, in this category, 2 athletes from Manisa Spil Sports Club and 1 athlete from Ankara are included in the national squad.
Medal Target from Athletes
National athlete Ayşe Begüm Onbaşı, who holds world and European championships in aerobic gymnastics, expressed that their goal is to reach the world championship and have the National Anthem played. Her partner Can Derviş also stated that they want to make the flag flutter in Spain.
Statement from the Club President
Manisa Spil Sports Club President Özgür Erdemir emphasized that 5 athletes from their club are in the national team squad and stated that they aim for a gold medal in every category at the organization.
