Miami-Dade Schools Recognized in U.S. News & World Report Rankings
Miami-Dade County secured second place nationally by placing six of its schools on the list of the top 100 public schools across the United States.
In the rankings of the top 100 public schools published by U.S. News & World Report, Miami-Dade County achieved national success with six of its schools, becoming the second district in the country with the most honorees.

Miami-Dade County demonstrated the achievement of having six different schools featured on the list of the top one hundred public schools across the United States. Five of these schools are operated by Miami-Dade County Public Schools while one operates under charter school status.
Position Among States
With this result, Miami-Dade County positioned itself second in the national rankings, following Maricopa County in Arizona, which houses Phoenix and had eight schools on the list. Florida tied with Arizona at the top with a total of 13 schools.
Ranking Criteria and Evaluation
The evaluations took into consideration various key metrics such as college readiness levels, state assessment scores, performance comparisons with peer schools sharing similar demographic characteristics, and graduation rates.
Miami-Dade Schools on the List
The six schools from Miami-Dade County that made the list were MAST @ FIU, Archimedean Upper Conservatory, José Martí MAST 6-12, iPreparatory Academy, TERRA Environmental Research Institute, and Design and Architecture Senior High.
