Following its sale to Cordelia Cruises and departure from the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, the Norwegian Sky was redirected to Turkey for renovation works prior to its operations in India, and its name was changed to Cordelia Sky.

Dubai Plan Abandoned

Cordelia Cruises initially planned to carry out the conversion and renovation works of the acquired ship at the Dubai Drydocks World facilities. However, geopolitical tensions and military conflicts in the region led to a last-minute change in this plan.

Conversion Started at Beşiktaş Shipyard

Following the handover in the Mediterranean instead of the Arabian Peninsula, the ship was brought to Beşiktaş Shipyard, known for its renovation projects. Currently in dry dock, the ship's interiors are being redesigned according to the expectations of Indian passengers.

India Voyage and New Plans

Although shifting the maintenance and conversion location to Turkey created some logistical challenges, the shipyard's cruise experience facilitated the process. The Cordelia Sky is planned to embark on its first short voyage from Mumbai Port on October 23, 2026. Additionally, the sister ship Norwegian Sun is expected to join the fleet in 2027.
