Presidential Symphony Orchestra Embarks on World Tour in Its 200th Year
Turkey's long-standing art institution will organize an international tour to celebrate its 200th anniversary, meeting music lovers in four different world cities.
The Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will carry the country's cultural and artistic heritage to international stages by giving concerts in Bucharest, Prague, Vienna, and New York as part of its 200th anniversary season.
200th Anniversary Season and International Tour Plan
The Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) has prepared a comprehensive international concert program dedicated to its 200th anniversary season, in line with its artistic activities maintained since 1826. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy shared the details of the tour for this meaningful milestone in a post on his social media account.
Republic Day Concert in Bucharest
The first stop of the international tour will be Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The orchestra will perform a special concert for Republic Day at the Bucharest National Opera House on November 3, 2026. This special performance will be conducted by maestro Bujor Hoinic.
March 2027 European Tour Details
The European tour will take place in March 2027. Under the direction of conductor Cemi’i Can Deliorman, the orchestra will appear before music lovers at Prague's Rudolfinum Dvořák Hall on March 29 and at the Vienna Konzerthaus on March 31. Cellist Mischa Maisky will take part as the soloist on the tour. The CSO will perform this repertoire in Ankara on March 26 prior to the tour.
Grand Finale at New York's Carnegie Hall
The CSO's international program within the scope of its 200th anniversary season will reach its peak and conclude with a concert to be held at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York, United States, on September 21, 2027.
