Damage in the Bucha Region
Tymur Tkachenko, head of the local regional military administration, reported that the attack caused a fire in the Bucha region west of Kyiv. The resulting fire spread to homes, damaging at least 50 residential buildings.
Nursing Home Affected
A nursing home serving elderly and disabled individuals was also damaged in the attack. Regional official Tymur Tkachenko announced that 34 of the victims who lost their lives were residents of this facility.
Reactions and Investigation by Officials
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the storage of explosives right next to civilians, describing the situation as a terrible negligence. Following the strike on the warehouse in the village of Myla, a judicial investigation was launched under laws prohibiting the storage of ammunition close to civilian residences.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi referred to a similar past attack in Vyshneve and condemned the repetition of such storage practices.
Russia's Statement and Another Attack
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that they targeted a warehouse in Myla housing long-range drone components and launch boosters. Meanwhile, it was reported that two people were killed and 27 others were injured in separate Russian attacks in the Kherson region.
