Six-Year-Old Chinese Girl Breaks Rubik's Cube World Record
Young speedcubing athlete Lian Yunzhi from Chengdu achieved a new women's average record with her results in official tournaments.
Six-year-old Chinese girl Lian Yunzhi broke the women's 3x3 average world record twice in three days at certified tournaments held in Wuhan and Guangzhou, achieving a time just over four seconds.
Record-Breaking Times
Lian Yunzhi achieved averages of 4.52 and 4.27 seconds by completing five solves each at competitions approved by the World Cube Association.
With this achievement, Lian earned the title of the first female speedcuber to achieve an average under 4.5 seconds.
The Hard Work Behind the Success
The young child, nicknamed Zhizhi, first had the opportunity to be introduced to the Rubik's cube through an extracurricular activity class.
Her mother, Lin Yangxi, stated that her daughter has mastered over 1,300 cube-solving algorithms and practices regularly every day.
