Suicide Attack on Checkpoint in Pakistan: 12 Dead
The death toll has risen following a bomb attack on a police checkpoint in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and subsequent gunfire directed at an ambulance.
At least 12 people were killed and 35 others injured in a suicide bombing targeting a police checkpoint in the Dera Ismail Khan district of northwestern Pakistan, followed by gunfire opened on an ambulance.
Bomb Attack on Checkpoint
A police checkpoint located in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan was targeted.
As a result of the suicide attack carried out with an explosives-laden vehicle, a massive explosion occurred in the area and loss of life took place.
Ambulance Fired Upon
Emergency services spokesperson Bilal Faizi reported that the ambulance used by teams rushing to the scene following the attack was targeted by gunmen.
As a result of the gunfire directed at the ambulance, a rescue worker lost his life, while two others were injured and taken under treatment.
Casualties and Injured
As a result of the acts of violence that took place, the total number of people who lost their lives reached at least 12.
It was announced by official authorities that two women and a child were among the deceased.
TTP Claims Responsibility for the Attack
The bloody attack, which caused great sorrow and concern in the region, was claimed by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) organization.
