During a rally in the state of Texas, U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his previous controversial statements that Iran could target California cities and stated that the country would not allow such a situation to happen.

New Remarks at the Texas Rally

Speaking at a campaign rally in San Antonio, U.S. President Donald Trump repeated his previous remarks touching upon the scenario of Iran firing a missile at San Diego or Los Angeles.

Emphasizing that the U.S. would not allow such threats and the country to fall into a bad state, Trump stated that the scenario in question would not happen.

Sharp Reaction from California Leaders

California leaders reacted very harshly to Trump's remarks, which he voiced during a rally in Nebraska on Monday, suggesting that Iran could target these cities.

California Governor Gavin Newsom argued that Trump was of unsound mind and called for the invocation of the 25th Amendment.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass stated that these remarks were dangerous and could jeopardize security, while San Diego Belediye Başkanı Todd Gloria said their city was nobody's victim.

Defense from the White House

Following the ongoing debates, the White House administration took a firm stance against the claims and rejected the criticisms.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung stated that the uproar kicked up in the media had no connection to reality, emphasizing that if Trump had not been stopped, a nuclear Iran would have threatened U.S. cities.
