Limited Ceasefire Claims
United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that Russia and Ukraine have shown interest in a limited ceasefire that would halt attacks on grain shipments and energy sectors.
Rubio stated that Zelenskyy publicly supports such a plan and that the United States is willing to help in this process.
Discussions at the Security Council
At the United Nations Security Council meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov came face to face with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and European allies.
Lavrov emphasized that Russia will not halt its military actions, described the Ukrainian leadership as terrorists, and made no mention of a grain and energy agreement.
