World of Warcraft: Forever What’s Next Panel Recap

Blizzard has announced World of Warcraft: Forever, a project returning to the original world of Azeroth and offering players new zones, quests, and the playable Skyborne race.

Principles of Return to the Original Experience

World of Warcraft: Forever stems from a shared hope, inspired by WoW Classic and Season of Discovery, focusing on the starting point of the journey.

The core principles of the game include accessible gameplay, the world positioned as the main character, and preserved social experiences.

Revamped Zones and Quests

Over a thousand new adventures await players in redesigned zones for levels 1 through 60 across Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.

Players will be able to participate in efforts to rebuild Mount Hyjal, explore the ruins of Shen'dralas, and visit the new starting zone, Zephras Isle.

New Playable Skyborne Race

Skyborne characters can align with factions to become a Shaman on the Horde side or a Mage on the Alliance side.

The new race also includes shared class options such as Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, and Druid.

Dungeons, Raids, and Systems

The project brings nine new dungeons, including the Ruins of Lordaeron and the City of Dalaran, along with raid encounters like Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit.

Additional systems such as legacy progression, camping, optional transmog, visual presets, and official controller support are also offered.

Testing Phase and Global Release

Beta testing for World of Warcraft: Forever will go live on September 17.

The game is scheduled for an official global release on November 4, 2026.
