AI Company Anthropic Files for IPO with SEC
AI developer Anthropic has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to list on the Nasdaq. The company's filings revealed high infrastructure expenditures and a net loss of $80.7 billion recorded in the first half of 2026.
AI company Anthropic has filed for an initial public offering (IPO) with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to trade on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker symbol "ANT."
The documents submitted to the SEC highlighted Anthropic's massive spending commitments for the computing infrastructure required to run its AI models. The company plans to pay at least $110 billion to Amazon by April 2036, $115 billion to Google by 2033, $45 billion to Microsoft by 2033, and $120 billion to SpaceX by 2029.
The company, which increased its revenue by 1368 percent year-over-year in the quarter ending June 30, 2026, reported a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first six months of 2026. With $112.4 billion in cash on hand as of the end of June, Anthropic warned that it might require additional financing sooner than anticipated due to infrastructure costs.
The IPO filing, led by Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, did not include details regarding the number of shares to be offered or valuation. The company listed uncertainties in security and global regulations as key risks, while noting that the unchecked development of advanced AI systems could pose existential risks.
