Layered Memory in the Artist's Works
Born in Athens in 1978, Donef reinterprets pages taken from encyclopedias, atlases, and various reference sources using drawings, colors, text, and lines to reveal a unique visual language.
Contributions of Institutions and Figures
Maya Portakal draws attention to the relationship she establishes between the layers in the works and the multi-layered life of Istanbul. Roupen Kalfayan, representative of Kalfayan Galleries, believes that the exhibition will contribute to the development of Istanbul's contemporary art scene.
