Turkish TV series are preparing for the Series Mania Forum in France
Mini-series projects developed in Turkey are moving to the Series Mania Forum in France following an Istanbul workshop for international investments and co-productions.
The Serial Bridges Istanbul program has been launched to connect mini-series projects developed in Turkey with international co-production and investment opportunities. Six selected projects will be showcased at the Series Mania Forum in France after the Istanbul workshop.
Program Stakeholders and Application Process
The program, implemented in partnership with the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Series Mania Institute, is managed by m2 Film Lab and TESİYAP.
The application process, open to screenwriters living in Turkey, can be conducted individually or in teams, and applications are accepted through m2 Film Lab until December 7.
Technical Criteria for Projects
Projects focusing on digital platforms and the international market are required to be single-season, consist of 4 to 8 episodes, and have a runtime of 25 to 60 minutes per episode.
Additionally, at least one member of the teams is required to have an advanced level of English for international communication, and all application files are expected to be prepared in English.
Experience and File Content Requirements
While screenwriters and producers, if any, are required to have previously worked on at least one professional production, authors who have not produced previous works may participate with a published book with an ISBN or a theater play.
Application files include a pre-project file, logline, season synopsis, character introductions, story arcs, pilot episode script, and short summaries of all episodes.
Selection and Istanbul Workshop Process
The Selection Committee will complete its evaluation on January 11, 2027, and the six projects selected for the program will be announced on January 12, 2027.
The selected teams will have the opportunity to develop their projects accompanied by international mentors by participating in the workshop to be held in Istanbul between January 25-29, 2027.
International Meeting in France
Projects that complete the workshop process will be presented at a special Turkey session within the scope of the Series Mania Forum to be held in France from March 23 to 25, 2027.
Thus, screenwriters and producers will be able to come together with foreign investors, broadcasters, and co-producers to evaluate global cooperation opportunities.
