Bank of America has deployed 3,000 employees and 1,000 contractors to address software vulnerabilities identified by advanced artificial intelligence systems, including the Mythos model developed by Anthropic.

Major Mobilization for AI Vulnerabilities

According to statements by Bank of America Chief Executive Officer Brian Moynihan, the bank added 1,000 contractors in the second quarter to repair software flaws and continues to employ these workers.

While it is noted that artificial intelligence models can detect vulnerabilities that may be decades old, this situation increases companies' security costs, and expenditures are expected to decrease over time.

Artificial Intelligence Risks in the Financial Sector

These advanced models are not only used by companies to patch vulnerabilities, but they can also be exploited by hackers to take advantage of these weaknesses.

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon pointed out that with the release of the Mythos model, cybersecurity risks have increased tenfold.

Moves by Regulatory Authorities and Banks

U.S. Treasury Department officials brought together regulators and financial institutions to coordinate a joint approach against rapid developments in artificial intelligence.

Major banks reported that they gained access to the Mythos model to uncover vulnerabilities in their IT systems and shared the information they obtained with smaller banks.

Ramp's National Trust Bank Initiative

In a separate financial development, financial platform Ramp has applied to establish a national trust bank that will offer escrow investment management and digital asset custody services.

Within the scope of this proposal submitted to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, it was stated that the trust bank to be established will not accept deposits or grant commercial loans.
