The Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) held an online conference on October 27, 2026, to evaluate the disbursement process for 2026 science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation funds. During the meeting chaired by Minister Vu Hai Quan, it was announced that as of October 26, 2026, 21,693.48 billion VND of the allocated 52,680.28 billion VND budget had been spent, representing 41.18%.

At the meeting, where it was noted that the expenditure rate at the local government level was 38.49%, it was emphasized that strategic steps must be taken for the effective use of the remaining 17,243.43 billion VND budget in the last two months of the year. The Ministry stated that budget allocation is not merely a spending target but must be directly linked to concrete output results.

The conference also addressed the implementation of the Law on Science, Technology, and Innovation No. 93/2025/QH15 and the removal of legal obstacles in the process. The Ministry requested that local governments accelerate the process by the end of the year to ensure the budget is used strategically and efficiently.
