The International Monetary Fund (IMF) released the October issue of the World Economic Outlook Report, sharing updated growth and inflation forecasts for the global economy and national economies with the public.

Global Economic Outlook

In the October issue of the World Economic Outlook Report published by the International Monetary Fund, it was stated that the global economy maintains its resilience, but this situation is not distributed equally among countries.

The published report announced that the world economy is expected to grow by 3.1 percent this year and 3.4 percent next year.

Global Inflation Expectations

While global headline inflation is projected to rise to 4.7 percent in 2026, it was noted that this rate is expected to decline to 4.1 percent in 2027.

Growth Forecasts for Countries

In the growth forecasts for countries included in the report, the US expectation for this year was kept constant at 2.3 percent, while the Euro Area's growth forecast for this year was raised to 1.1 percent.

On the other hand, China's growth expectation for this year was lowered to 4.5 percent, India's forecast was raised to 7 percent, and Russia's expectation was reduced to 0.9 percent.

Turkish Economy Expectations

The updated report stated that the Turkish economy is projected to grow by 2.7 percent this year and 3.6 percent next year.

Having previously projected in its July forecasts that the Turkish economy would grow by 2.9 percent this year, the IMF has thus revised its expectation downward.

Turkey Inflation Forecasts

The International Monetary Fund's report also noted that Turkey's year-end inflation forecast for 2026 is expected to be 31.2 percent, and the year-end forecast for 2027 is expected to be 26.5 percent.
