A new systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating the impact of artificial intelligence-supported learning tools on nursing students' knowledge acquisition and practical skills has been published.

Conducted in accordance with PRISMA 2020 guidelines, the study examined the effectiveness of artificial intelligence-based interventions such as large language models, chatbots, and virtual patient simulations. As a result of searches conducted in PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, and ScienceDirect databases, seven studies out of the initially identified 440 records met the inclusion criteria. Among these, four studies authored by Abdelwahab (2026), Han (2022), Shin (2024), and Song (2025) provided sufficient data for synthesis.

Evaluation: The researchers observed a significant level of heterogeneity and variable risk profiles across the analyzed studies. While it was noted that three out of the four studies carried a serious risk of bias, it was emphasized that more rigorous and randomized controlled trials are needed to determine the true effectiveness of artificial intelligence in nursing education.
