Minister Tekin: Social media has a major impact on children's perception of violence

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin emphasized during his speech at the opening of the 12th Erzurum Days that social media plays an important role in shaping children's perception of violence. Minister Tekin stated that approximately 80 percent of children who report being exposed to violence cite situations on social media such as exclusion or not receiving enough likes as reasons, and announced that they are working on awareness-raising efforts and preparing for legal proceedings against Meta.

Minister Tekin also shared his new projects in the field of education at the 12th Erzurum Days held in Ankara. Stating that the tender for the Erzurumspor stadium has been completed and it is targeted to be finished in January 2028, Tekin announced that an Erzurum Gastronomy High School will be opened in the city, one of the 20 special education campuses will be established in Erzurum, and a Winter Sports High School will be brought to life.
