Suspect who killed his former roommate in Ankara shared the incident on social media

In Ankara, Mehmet Özgü killed his former roommate Serkan Yılmaz, with whom he had a feud due to alcohol consumption and business issues, in a knife attack at a coffeehouse. Özgü, who accidentally shot himself in the foot with his handgun during the incident, shared footage of the victim on his social media account after the murder.

The argument between Mehmet Özgü, who is stated to work as an illegal taxi driver, and Serkan Yılmaz, with whom he shared a house until 3 months ago, turned into violence at a coffeehouse. After shooting himself in the foot with his handgun while attempting to fire, Özgü attacked Yılmaz with a knife he was carrying. Yılmaz, who was severely wounded by blows to his throat and heart, lost his life at the scene.

Following the murder, Mehmet Özgü, who shared footage of the victim covered in blood on social media and made threats against another person, was taken into custody at the scene by teams from the Ankara Police Department's Homicide Bureau. While Serkan Yılmaz's body was taken to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy procedures, the investigation into the incident continues.
